DYING TO LIVE

Before my pen dries up
Before my fingers go numb
Before I go dumb or
fade away from the face of the earth
Before my heart grows cold with lack of
remorse for what must ultimately take place
Before my mind begins to fathom the pain and
anguish to be suffered by a generation that has
turned its back to God
I pray you hear me out
Don't be like the pharisees who
desired to be like gods among men,
above reproach from authority but still
hiding behind the very law they flouted
while oppressing the minority
They chose to block out the voice of reason
and instead made  a resolve to commit treason
against the King himself
And for a moment they appeared to have succeeded
but appearances can be deceiving
Its like Iddi Amin conquering the British Empire
So before the world freezes over,I would like to
let you know about the object of my desire
I love Him more than ladies love a shopping spree
So now you can call me Kirk Franklin
coz am counted among God's property
This is an open invite to get to know Him
and He'll conduct a heart transplant
and wash you white a snow in an instant
and best part is He won't use no Sunlight
coz the son's light shines brighter than bling
for all men to see
I call you to seek this intimacy
with Him who knew no sin
but for your sake endured an obscene
amount of beating so that He could give
us right standing with the Father rather than
be left to condemnation
He had to become deceased so that
we may no longer be diseased
See right now my heart is pregnant
with expectation of Him coming down
in all His glory
But all this world offers is artificially inseminated
dreams of living large,fast cars and loose girls
who flash like photography
Well truth be told I wouldn't mind driving around
in a silver Nissan Skyline
but I'd rather look up to the skyline
and see Christ coming down on a silver cloud,
the Lion and the Lamb, He's got the best of both worlds
And when He comes my bags will be packed
like  groceries at Nakumatt
But believe me I won't have excess baggage
coz sin won't have power to do any more damage
Right now I'm an alien on earth like Ben 10
but He'll come to snatch us out just like He did Daniel
in the lion's den
A life well live is what is expected of me
and I will be judged on what i believe
so I don't want to stand before the holy God thinking
brotherly love is a marriage between Adam and Steve
My soul cries out for Heaven,the home of my rebirth
coz I feel like i"m being shortchanged living on earth
with all its deception knowing the kind of redemption
that Heaven offers.
Yet, living on earth gives us hope for salvation
knowing that we are still under Mercy and Grace
before God lights up hell's fiery furnace
What a disgrace many men will face
knowing at some point in their life
they could have lessened their pace
and accepted Christ's warm embrace
So take heed to these words
and realize how much you are worth
coz I will only say this once
Before I lose my voice
and before heaven and hell are no longer a choice
Before the words I speak become but mere noise
to the ears and hearts of wicked men
Choose your side wisely and  stand with the knowledge
that you didn't live your life in vain
